The Urbz: Sims in the City for Gameboy Advance Review

Hello. Today, we'll be looking at The Urbz: Sims in The City for GBA. It's also on Xbox, PS2, GameCube, and DS. Let's get started!
The story in the handheld version is that Daddy BigBucks is taking over the city. You are fired from your job. When you get into his office, he catches you and you are sent to jail. After being released, you are free to explore.
There are minigames you can play which are the best part of the game. The games earn you money. The game also divides you into one of four groups: Nerdies, Artsies, Streeties, and Richies. I was a nerdie.
The game isn't without its faults. Exhibit A: It's very repetitive. You have to take care of your sim a lot. I don't pee that much a lot in real life. Exhibit B: The conversations are bland. You have to bring up the same stuff over and over again. Exhibit C: Entertainment's a NEED?!?! If you don't let them watch TV or play on a computer, they pass out. Why????????????????????
This game is defintely flawed. The Sims fams might have fun out of this version. Otherwise, skip it. I heard the console versions were better.

Did You Know? Donkey Kong 64

I'm starting a new series about facts about gaming called "Did You Know?". It's based off facts I know and facts from www.didyouknowgaming.com . So here it is:

The reason why Donkey Kong 64 needs the expansion pak to run perfectly is because DK64 will hit a game breaking bug without an expansion pak. Rare knew about the bug and saw the expansion fixed the bug. Rare threw the expansion pak in for free saving Rare a fortune.

GameCube Hidden Gems!

Ah, the GameCube. It was seen as a disappointing console. I think it's awesome. In the GameCube library, there are a ton of Hidden Gems. This is new series of videos. There is a part III on the way.

Forgotten Video Games: Crash Landed

Welcome to another post of Forgotten Video Games! Today, we're looking at a cancelled Crash Bandicoot called Crash Landed!
The PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii version were being developed by Radical Entertainment. But, the DS version wan pitched by Renegade Kid, but was rejected because other developers wanted to make the DS version. In the game, Crash would travel through islands and would save other bandicoots.
The only known footage is the DS demo footage. And in the DS version, Crash looks as creepy as hell.
It's unknown why it's cancelled.

Doodle Jump for iOS review

Welcome to my review of Doodle Jump for iOS. It's also on Android market and Xbox Live arcade w/ Kinect. Let's get started!
Doodle Jump's objective is to get up a tower of platforms without falling down. It's controls are simple. Tilt the device left or right to move and touch the screen to fire and take down enemies.
Doodle Jump is addictive and fun. I don't know what else to say.

Nintendo Land for Wii U review

Welcome to my first Wii U review! We're going to look at Nintendo Land for the Wii U. Let's go!
Nintendo Land has an interesting story. You go to a Nintendo themed Disney Land and you go on the Minigame rides. There are games you can play alone, played with 1-5 players, or 2-5 players.
Some of the games include Yoshi's Fruit Cart, Pikmin Adventure, and Animal Crossing: Sweet Day. The game controlled finely. They did mess up the jump button, however. That's the only flaw I noticed.
This is a good game. Get it w/ the deluxe set of the Wii U .

I broke my arm! :(

Today, I was at a Skate Town, a roller skating place, for a party. While I was there, I fell pretty hard on the ground. When at the clinic, we discovered I broke my arm :(. Actually, this is my first time to break a bone. It was not a displacement, luckily. I now need to learn to do stuff w/ my left hand because I'm a righty.

Xbox One Mistakes So Far

Recently they announced the Xbox One. Now I'd like to point out I'm not a Microsoft console guy. Microsoft has been making mistake after mistake for various reasons:
1. Ruining the used game market. You have to pay an activation fee for each game and GameStop will have to reset the game for a used game.
2. Kinect 2.0 always on. It could catch you playing Call of Duty in your underwear and use the footage for marketing purposes. Would you want to see it online?
3. NO backwards compatibility. The trail continued from limited backwards compatibility to none at all. It's a stupid decision by Microsoft.
4. They didn't announce a lot of games for Xbox One. All they announced was a new Forza Game. While Sony announced more games for the PS4, Microsoft didn't.
These are some of the fails by the Xbox One so far. You will see me in line for the PS4. This will probably not change my grudge w/ Microsoft consoles.

I found the Hylian Shield!

No, I didn't find a Hylian shield, but it's a game I've been looking for a long time! Yesterday at Game Mechanix, they finally had Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards in the glass cases! For $30.00, I bought the game w/ out a doubt.  It's a late release in the N64 life cycle being released in 2000. A lot of good N64 games came late in the N64 life cycle this one included along Dr. Mario 64, Paper Mario, Zelda : Majora's Mask, and Banjo Tooie. Maybe Conker's Bad Fur Day? I'm getting off topic. I love Kirby 64 and you should pick it up!

Ratchet and Clank Movie Announcement!

On April 23, Sony gladly announced the Ratchet and Clank Movie. With the announcement, there is a PSN sale starting April 30 on Ratchet and Clank games. So be ready! The movie's being produced by Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment wiith assistance from Insomniac Games. The movie tells the origin of Ratchet and Clank covering a story like Ratchet and Clank 1 but with a deep and richer plot. The movie is set to be coming in 2015. Ratchet and Clank are also based on the Tools of Destruction design described as their "You're watching a Pixar movie" look.

I played IntelliVision, my impressions!

At Game Mechanix today, I was at the store. Than the guy who owns the place comes in. He got the part for the IntellVision so they can play it on newer TV's. When he got it working, he and I played some. We played Donkey Kong. It was great! I figured the side buttons. Then we played Baseball on the IntelliVision. I got my ass served on a platter because the other guy got 20 pts. in the 1st inning.
So what do I think of the IntelliVison? It's a good console despite the wierd controller.

Titles I want to see on the Wii U

I want to see Kirby on the Wii U! How cool would that be? On the gamepad you could look at your health and, just like in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, you can see your enemy's stats.
I would also like to see a GOOD Star Fox game. On the gamepad, you can see your health, a map, and a laser upgrader Let's hope it would pay for the damage left by Star Fox Assault, Adventures, and Command.
I've also been dying for Mario Kart U. Where is it, Nintendo? I need Mario Kart on the Wii U some time this year! I, at least, want the map on the gamepad or make it entirely playable on the gamepad.
It would also be cool to see Legend of Zelda on the Wii U. There may be one determining from the Wii U trailer. Now that's just my thought.

I got a PS2 slim!

On Saturday, I was in Shreveport. We stopped by the Boardwalk and did our usual stuff. Then, we got to the Goodwill.  Found nothing except a few PC games but we didn't pick 'em up. We later found a game store called Game X-Change. They were one hell of a retro store! I picked up the PS2 slim along with the following games:
Rocket: Robot on Wheels (N64), Yoshi's Cookie (NES), Ico (PS2), Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PS2), Crash Nitro Kart (PS2). and Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories (PS2). I also picked up a 32 mb memory card for the PS2.
The PS2 Slim works perfectly. I love it!

Kirby's Dream Collection for Nintendo Wii Review

Today, I'm reviewing Kirby's Dream Collection for the Wii. Let's get started!

Released on September 16,2012, this game celebrated the 20 yr. anniversary of the pink puffbal we know and love. It included six games: Kirby's Dream Land (GB),Kirby's Adventure(NES), Kirby's Dream Land 2 (GB), Kirby Super Star (SNES), Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES), and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (the best Kirby game ever made) (N64). Also on the Disc, you can look at Kirby's history, see episodes of Kirby: Right Bact at Ya!, and beat new challenge levels. Also with the game, a CD with Kirby music and a history book.

I thought this was an amazing birthday president. I say pick it up.

Forgotten Video Games (companies): THQ

Welcome to my first installment of Forgotten Video Games; where I talk about forgotten series and some companies thrown in there. Today I'm talking about the defunked THQ.
THQ was founded in 1989. They were a toy making company in the 90's. Until one day they said, "Hey, let's start making video games!" So they started making video games 1994. They were responible for Darksiders, WWE, Saints Rows series, and some others. They were in increasing debt. On December 19, 2012, THQ filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. They later auctioned off  the release of some games. This was the end for THQ.
It's a bit of a shame that THQ is pretty much over. They had some good games.

Puppy Bowl!

Today is Super Bowl day. It's also Puppy Bowl day. I celebrate Puppy Bowl every year. I love Puupy Bowl a lot ; so much I DVR'd it.

Puppy Bowl IX was just awesome. Animal Planet's alternative to the more popular Super Bowl has one word written all over it: CUTE. It has hedgehog cheerleaders (No Amy from Sonic), kitty halftime shows, and puppies and LOTS of them.It is awesome!

Ever since Nintendo Power died off, I've been on the hunt for the last issue. I haven't been sucsessful. I looked far and wide. Aboslutely nothing; I lost all hope... but today, when my Mom returned from work (and Walmart), she gave me a bag.
Along with some sweatpants were two copies of the last issue of Nintendo Power! BEST day of my life ever! I kept one sealed so I could read the last issue of Nintendo Power. It is awesome! My life is awesome.

The Simpson Game review

Hello, I'm reviewing The Simpsons Game for the Play Station 3. This is also available for the Wii, PS2, Xbox 360, PSP, and DS. Hopefully they'll make a Vectrex release. Let's get started!

The story is that The Simpsons are stuck in a video game world run by Matt Groening and they must escape.  What will help: Bart's Bartman Powers, Homer's wrecking ball ability, Marge's megaphone, or Lisa's envrionmental power? You decide!

The game has The Simpsons comedy with video game satire  mixed very well in. While playing, Comic Book guy will point out gaming cliches. It's really funny and has the original cast voicing. The front covers are different for each console. The Xbox 360 version has Homer cheering, the Wii version has Homer being attacked by an Alien, the PS3 version has Homer kneeing Itchy, the PS2 version has Homer being bitten by Never Quest Ralph, the PSP version has Homer being attacked by Krusty The Klown toys, and the DS version has Homer being bitten by Chocolate bunnies. Overall, it's a very funny game that's a must pick-up.

Donkey Kong Country for SNES review

Today I'll review the original Donkey Kong Country for SNES. Let's get started!

The story is that it's a dark and stormy night..Donkey Kong told Diddy Kong to protect the Banana hoard. While Diddy Kong was protecting the hoard, kremlings stole the Banana hoard and took it to King K. Rool. So it's up to Donkey Kong and his new sidekick, Diddy Kong to get the hoard back!

Back when this game released, this was the best 3-D graphics you've ever seen. And it still is today. It uses  an incredible 32 megs. to create the 3-D epicness of this game. This game will keep you occupied with more than 100 levels. Overall, this is a great classic that will always remain cool!

Wreck-It-Ralph for 3DS video game review

Hello! Today, I'm reviewing Wreck-It-Ralph for the 3DS. This is also for Wii and DS. So let's get started...

Wreck-It-Ralph follows the characters after the Movie. The story is that after they clear the bug invasion, they head back to their normal lives. All of a sudden, there is another bug invasion. The bugs have invaded Fix It Felix Jr, Hero's Duty, and Candy Rush. So Wreck-It-Ralph and Fix-It-Felix Jr. must team up again to clear the invasion!

The game is excellent though it's a bit short. The worlds consist of 4 levels then a boss fight that you have to unlock when you complete all four levels in all the worlds. I completed most of the game in two days. It's also a bit easy to die in the game. It's a game that's not bad.
